Reservations & Payments


How do I make a reservation?

Please visit the Contact Us section of our web page or go directly to the Reservations section of our web page to obtain further information.

We will take your credit card information over the phone.

Our office hours are 10.00am-3.00pm & 4.00-8.00pm - Monday Saturday. We are in Central Time Zone.


Is a deposit required to secure my reservation?

We require the first night's room deposit to secure your reservation. Your remaining balance for your room & transport is due two weeks prior to your arrival date. We will automatically charge the remaining balance at this time, unless we receive written notification from you.


Are there other methods of payment?

You can pay with direct deposit, wire transfer or Pay Pal. This information can be provided upon request.


What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel your reservation less than two months prior to arrival, you will lose your first night's deposit unless we can book the rooms. There is an additional $50 US dollar processing fee that is non-refundable from your room deposit. If you cancel your reservation less than one month prior to arrival, you will receive no refund on your previous deposits. There is a $50 US dollar penalty fee for all late payments that arrive beyond the scheduled payment dates.

What is your nightly room rate for adults & children?

What do your room prices include?

All of our room rates include a full breakfast and full dinner with one glass of wine or beer. Welcome cocktail on the terrace on your first evening.


What is the difference between rooms with interior or exterior baths?

We have options for rooms with either interior or exterior baths. Our exterior baths are complete facilities and are all only a few steps away from your room.


Do you have a minimum number of nights required?

Casa Sagrada has a two-night minimum for all of our reservations.


What is your peak season?

We suggest booking well in advance for Christmas, New Year's, Easter vacation and Day of the Dead (Oct 31 -Nov 02).


Do you have any large rooms for families?

We can accommodate families or individuals in our larger guest rooms and can provide triples or quads when a small group wants to house together.


Do you offer discounts for groups?

Just ask us about our group rates for 10 people or more.


Do you offer meals for vegetarians?

Please advise us if there are any dietary restrictions or special needs in your group and we will do our best to accommodate you & your family.


Do you have handicap access?

Casa Sagrada is handicap accessible to our common facilities and we have a few rooms that are available for persons with disabilities.

Transport


How do I get to Casa Sagrada?

Transfers can be made from the airport or from your hotel in Oaxaca to Casa Sagrada for an additional cost. Casa Sagrada is in the village of Teotitlan del Valle which is 15 miles from Oaxaca's international airport. We can provide you with transport information upon request.


How do I get to Oaxaca?

Do you offer transport to various locations in and around Oaxaca?

Our bilingual staff can provide you with taxis, vans, cultural guides and regional tours within the Oaxaca valley to suit your travel & touring needs.

Should I rent a car?

Oaxaca has a very good and inexpensive transportation system. We can provide you with transportation or can recommend buses, taxis or local van transport to get around Oaxaca.

Can I drive to Teotitlan?

Casa Sagrada is only 15 miles from the city of Oaxaca but it's a little tricky to find; so allow us to arrange for your transportation or if you are driving we can send you a map.


Is Casa Sagrada within walking distance to the rug shopping in Teotitlan?

You can walk right down the hill and into the heart of Teotitlan in less than 10 minutes. We will give you a walking map of the town upon arrival.

How do I pay for additional activities or services when I am at Casa Sagrada?

All additional services, tours, store purchases & extra beverages can be purchased by guests and added to their room bill. All incidentals at Casa Sagrada must be paid in cash (peso or dollars), personal checks or traveler's checks. No credit card purchases are available onsite.

Where is Casa Sagrada?

Casa Sagrada is in the village of Teotitlan del Valle which is 15 miles from Oaxaca's international airport. The capital city of Oaxaca is 45 minutes south of Mexico City by air or 6 hours by bus or car.


What does Casa Sagrada look like?

What is weather like in Oaxaca?

Oaxaca has a dry, temperate year-round climate. We have warm sunny days with cooler nights. Temperatures range from the 80's in the day to the 50's - 60's at night.

Non-Residential Programs


Can I visit Casa Sagrada if I am not staying there?

We offer our regular half-day programs throughout the week or we will customize day excursions for you. We can design a program at Casa Sagrada for all types of special events, holidays, weddings, meetings or reunions.


Can you tell me more about the half-day programs?

At Casa Sagrada, we offer on-going half-day excursions every week for both our residential guests and for visitors. All of our 6-hour programs include: round-trip transport from Oaxaca, bilingual cultural guide and a 4-course gourmet meal of regional Oaxacan cuisine.

What if we want to do the cooking class and the kids want to go horseback riding?

Our half-day programs are designed to accommodate simultaneous activities. Afterwards, everyone joins together on the terrace for our 4-course gourmet meal of regional Oaxacan cuisine. We require a minimum of two people per activity. Frequently, we will put small groups together if there are individual requests for specific half-day programs.


Where is La Mano Magica Gallery?

Our van pick-up & drop-off point in the central district is in front of the La Mano Magica Gallery, located at Alcala 203 between Matamoros & Morelos. This is the cobbled pedestrian street in the center of Oaxaca. We are approximately half-way between Santo Domingo and the Zocalo.

What is La Cocina Magica?

The owners of Casa Sagrada invite you to enjoy a traditional meal while you are in Oaxaca. Mary Jane & Arnulfo's quiet patio restaurant in their historic colonial home is right next door to Galería La Mano Magica on Alcala.

Are there telephones at Casa Sagrada?

We do not have a public access telephone at Casa Sagrada. We sell phone cards and guests can us the public phones in Teotitlan to make local or long distance calls.


Is there Internet at Casa Sagrada?

We do not have internet at this time. There is an internet café in the center of Teotitlan.


Will my cell phone work at Casa Sagrada?

Some of our guests have had success with using their international cell phones at Casa Sagrada, however it depends upon your plan and your provider.

What to Bring


What type of clothes should I bring to Casa Sagrada?

We suggest comfortable & casual, layered clothing, sturdy walking or tennis shoes, sandals, and a light jacket, shawl or sweater for evenings. Other items to bring: sun hat, sun screen, camera, medications, yoga clothing, toiletries, identification, passport, Spanish phrase book, cash machine card and/or credit card.


Do you have yoga props?

We have a large yoga studio with mats, straps, meditation cushions and blankets for our guests.


Should I bring an extra suitcase?

Many of our guests bring an extra bag to take home all of the wonderful arts & crafts of Oaxaca.


Is customs a problem?

You can take back most of the items that you purchase in Oaxaca. The main restriction is on plant and seed material.


Do I need shots prior to arrival in Oaxaca?

We suggest that you consult with your physician prior to arrival in Mexico or log onto the Center for Disease Control web site for current travel & medical information.
